A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):
Americans are burned out on the headlines and really, who could blame them? There is so much fake news, bad news, stupid news, Trump hating news, lying about Melania news, it’s no wonder a new survey of more than 5,000 adults shows that 68 percent of Americans are “worn out” by the amount of news they’re seeing. The percentage is even higher than during the 2016 election when 59% were sick of the news.
The survey found 77 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents are sicker of the news than Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents that showed 61 percent are sick of the news.
Considering the amount of media sources and all the negative stories that are published daily, I’m not surprised by this. The level of news available is exhausting. As with smartphones I discussed on Wednesday, sometimes you need to turn off the news and take a mental break from it all. It’ll do you some good. Well, except A Whittle Bit of Commentary. Always listen to this show, but everyone else. Yeah, turn off the TV.
I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
