Driving In The Middle Of A Military Convoy Reminded Me Of How Grateful I Am For The Men And Women Serving In The Military 6/5/2018 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

Sunday I drove back to Mississippi and outside of Mobile, Alabama, I got in the middle of a convoy of military vehicles heading to Camp Shelby, at least that’s what I’m assuming since it’s the closest base.

While driving beside them and sometimes in the middle of them, depending on the lane and traffic, I started thinking about how much I respect those that serve and how much I admire them for being willing to serve. They volunteered. They were not forced to do it.

I started thinking about how much they sacrifice to protect our nation. They give up time with family and friends to spend a summer in sometimes extremely hot and dangerous spots like Afghanistan.

And a lot of them are not getting rich serving in the military.

They’re working hard to protect our freedom, and I just wanted to take a moment to say how grateful I am for them. They deserve our respect throughout the year and not just on holidays.

They are the good guys (and gals). God bless them and protect them.
