Christian movies are going international.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that at the Cannes Film Festival, Christian based films are gaining attention from international film buyers and some of the countries that signing deals for rights include China, Poland, Russia, South Korea, and the Middle East.

A couple of years ago this would’ve never happened.

Some of the movies gaining international attention include I Can Only Imagine, Samson, and God Bless the Broken Road,

I believe there are many reasons why Christian films are gaining intentional attention. One, of course, God is in the mix and He’s using media to help spread the gospel. Two, Christian movies are making a lot of money, which shows there is an audience for religious based movies. Three, the production quality of Christian movies continues to improve. Five, with all the immoral themes and violence in movies, movie lovers in other countries are looking for more movies that contain family friendly stories with a positive message.

This is only the beginning of the influence and growth of Christian movies and it’s long overdue.
