Social media is ruining lives. Literally.

Business Insider reports on a 26 year old that has racked up $10,000 of debt trying to become an “Instagram Star.”

The woman admits to living above her means by spending money on clothes and traveling to new places every month, because if you wanna make people believe you’re rich and living the dream, you can’t have the same outfit on twice or stay home and Netflix and Chill on a Friday night, no, you gotta go visit somewhere exotic every weekend.

She’s not alone in trying to become Insta famous. There is a long list of people obsessed about becoming social media famous, and what a lot of people don’t understand is that a lot of social media, like her page, is all fake, not real, but people keep spending money and mental energy just to gain another follower. And it’s driving them mentally and financially broke.
