Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

Journalists love to say that we are in the era of “Peak TV,” which is true. Never before has there been as many TV shows to watch as there are right now thanks to cable, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. In addition there is the CBS All-Access app, plus many other smaller services that range from entertainment to sports to even conservative news programming. Odds are there is an app that offers content that fit your interest, with even more on the way.

With all these apps that you now need to watch shows, not only are we in “Peak TV,” we are in a Peak TV App world! And the costs are gonna start adding up for all these apps. We all love to complain about the price of cable, but the more apps we buy, the more money we spend, and in a couple of years, we may be spending more on apps than we ever did traditional cable.

I believe I’ve reached my peak with buying apps. I got Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and CBS All-Access. I don’t believe I can afford anymore, or at least that’s what I’ll say until another app comes out that I want to buy. And I have cable!

In a couple of years, I wouldn’t be surprised if apps started getting bundle together like cable channels are today in order to reduce the price and gain more subscribers.

Technology is gonna make us all go broke!
