A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):
Well “fake news” CNN has got some real bad headlines out there about themselves right now. On top of CNN having to retract a story on Trump and Russia and three staffers resigning over it, conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe releases an undercover video of a CNN producer saying the Russian narrative is mostly false, probably nothing there, and that they’re covering Trump and the Russian deal basically 24/7 because CNN is a business and it’s all about the ratings. So it’s a bad week for Jeff Zucker over at CNN.
I hate to be the one to rain on the CNN “fake news” parade because it’s fun to watch all of it, but this is not gonna change anything over there. Yeah, they’ll probably fire a couple of people to make it look as though they’re getting to the bottom of this, and getting rid of the people pushing these false Trump reports, and that’s all a PR stunt, because at the end of the day, CNN is gonna be CNN.
There is only one way to make CNN and the rest of the media change their ways and that is to hit them where it counts and that’s in the piggy bank.
Unless they start losing big revenue from advertisers because the ratings are way down because people are tired of the Trump stuff, they’re not gonna stop their current anti-Trump 24/7 business model. You want the media to change, you gotta help change them by turning them off. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
