A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):
A food critic at Eater.com, which is a website obviously about food, shared a long review of Christian based Chick Fil A and suggested and encouraged readers not to eat there because of the chicken chain’s “baggage,” which this guy defines as the restaurants Christian based morals that governs the company, mostly because its stance on traditional marriage in the past. Now we’ve seen this before a couple of years ago when Chick Fil A came under fire for comments from COO Dan Cathy on the issue that led to the National Chick Fil A Appreciation Day with hundreds of thousands coming out to support Cathy and the company’s freedom of speech and religion on the issue. Twitchy.com reports that the review has received backlash on Twitter with people criticizing him for politicizing food. Telling people that they shouldn’t eat there because of politics and the company’s Christian values is probably gonna back fire and it’s gonna make people say “Oh yeah? I shouldn’t eat at Chick Fil A? Well, screw you! I’m gonna eat there 3 times today!” This liberal food critic if he isn’t careful he’s gonna unintentionally double Chick Fil A’s sales! I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
