Facebook Begins to Flag Fake News, But Needs to Flag News with Liberal Bias 3/8/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

USA Today reports that Facebook has begun to flag “fake news” or what it’s calling disputed news on the social giant’s website. The addition of flagging fake news on the site comes after the social network got a lot of negative feedback after the 2016 election as they got accused of helping to pass along fake stories on Trump and Hillary spread all over the site as the stories would trend and go viral. Now we all know how this is gonna work. They’ll flag some phony site like say ABCNews.abc, which is obviously a fake site with a fake domain I made up, however, this new tool is gonna miss out on flagging a lot of other fake news outlets such as the Clinton News Network, NBCNews.com, HuffingtonPost.com, msnbc.com, democrats.org, among others. Facebook should start flagging websites with the other big problem that we have online and that is a warning label when a story contains liberal bias. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
