Could You Survive a Smartphone Fast for Lent? 3/3/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

We had Ash Wednesday this week and on April 14 we have Good Friday, so we are in the season of Lent, and the Archdiocese of Hartford has offered up a real challenge to the local faithful, for lent he’s encouraging the flock to give up their cell phones for lent. Some students at a local Catholic High School are wearing stickers that say “I Phone Fast! Will u?” Now for most people, giving up their phones for lent would be a real challenge, and some people would probably have panic attacks over not being able to check their Facebook feed for day, but the difficultly of putting the phone away for a day just goes to show how dependent we are on them, and is all the most reason for all of us to maybe fast from our phones for a day, just to put things in perspective of what’s really important. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
