What Unites us Anymore in America? 11/8/17 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

In a recent interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas had a very good question when he wanted to know “what binds us” now in America?

It’s a great question. What does unite us anymore in America?

Faith, Judeo-Christian values, patriotism, love of country, family used to be the sturdy foundation that kept America strong and united, but now simply saluting the flag or standing for the national anthem is a national controversy. And if you dare speak the name of Jesus in a prayer before a football game, you have almost committed a crime in the Politically Correct States of America. The women of The View recently had a discussion about which Ten Commandments are irrelevant in today’s society. So, no longer does faith bind us together.

Back to his question, what does bind us together?

In modern America, what made America great has been replaced by big government. That’s what we have in common. An ever increasing, all-encompassing federal government and political correctness.

And the further America moves from the values that made her great, the more difficult it’s gonna become to answer the question about what unites us, as we become ever further divided.
