Wanna Be Happier? Quit Social Media 9/23/16 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

The UK Guardian interviewed some of their young readers and from the interviews they’ve determined that logging off, quitting social media will make you happier. One 23 year old named Daisy said that quitting Facebook made her less anxious and she feels less like a failure now, because she’d see all her friends on there and all the trips and all the wonderful things happening in their life, and it made her feel bad. Ben, 21, said he has a more positive mindset since he’s started using it less. Twenty-five year old Rosanna said she can now “live her life instead of trying to shape it into one that looks good online.” Social media for too many people has become a central aspect of their life and some people live or die by their social media posts. It’s really sad to see so many young people living their life through a screen instead of in reality. And all those folks that have the so-called perfect life on Facebook, they’re lying. They’re making it up. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
