The opening ceremonies of the Olympics are tonight. A new Gallup poll out is reporting that less Americans are excited about the games now than four years ago. Those that plan to watch a “great deal” or a “fair amount” is down from 59 to 48 percent. 21% plan to “not watch at all.” There are many reasons why people in my opinion don’t want to watch as much. Number one is there are too many events on too many channels, people don’t have time to watch, there are thousands of other things you can watch such as Netflix, YouTube, school just started so people are busy, and finally, unlike other countries, you cannot watch the games live on NBC. They run it all on a delay in 2016. Guess they’ve never heard of Twitter and the Internet where you can just read who won an event before watching it, which takes away a lot of the drama. Plus, football is about to start and nothing compares to football. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
