A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):
The Twitterverse and the sports press is all in an uproar that Kevin Durant is leaving OKC and heading to play for the Golden State Warriors. The anger over him not staying in Oklahoma is absurd because he did the same thing anyone listening to this show would’ve done, which is leave one job to go to another with a better opportunity financially, personally and career wise. Athletes at the end of the day are just like us: they work for a boss and earn a paycheck. And if a chance to make more money or have more success arises, you would leave too. If you play for the Cleveland Browns and you have the chance to play with the Patriots, you’d leave to so you could earn a Super Bowl ring because loyalty doesn’t win games, getting in a good situation with the right people does. Golden State is a better situation. You can scream loyalty all day, but you would’ve left too. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
