I Don't View Trump as a Republican, but as Something Better: An Independent American 11/21/16 - A Whittle Bit of Commentary

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):

Over the weekend President-elect Trump continued making moves and talking to potential candidates for positions in his administration. Overall, so far, so good with that, for the most part. Even though Trump is picking Republicans to work in his administration, I don’t consider him a Republican even though he ran as one. Trump is the only president we’ve had that is outside the two party system. Of course, he had to run as a Republican to win, he never would’ve won as an independent candidate, but if you look at his record and his history, his positions and rhetoric doesn’t fit neatly into a democrat or Republican box, and that’s ok with me. I view him not as a Republican, but as an Independent American President, that cares less about party, and more about country, which is ok with me. If you look back, George Washington gave warnings about political parties, and Trump may be the first president since Washington to be outside of the political party system, which may be exactly what America needs, a guy that puts country over party and politics.
