A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Transcript (may appear different than audio recording):
This past weekend Ireland became the first country in the world to vote for gay marriage. Italy is up next and then probably the U.S. via the Supreme Court. You can agree or disagree about gay marriage, but looking at the trend about marriage overall, I wonder if marriage will be a majority of an activity that adults of any sexual orientation will participate in. A new Gallup poll that got released shows how American’s views on moral issues are changing. 61% of Americans now view having a baby out of wedlock as ok, sex outside of marriage has 68% approval, and divorce has 71% approval now from the public. BusinessInsider.com reports that only 26% of 18-32 year olds are married. Also, remember, there are lots of dating and hook up apps that are in the mix helping people find a fling outside of marriage. With the culture growing more liberal, and moving away from traditional morality, a day could come when those that are married are in the minority. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
