YouTube is getting a lot of new competition. According to WSJ.com, SnapChat, Facebook and other sites are planning to try and take market share away from the Google owned website. A lot of the video creators on YouTube receive a cut of the ad revenue from posting their videos on the website. YouTube’s competition is promising more money for content creators than YouTube offers. The question is will the extra money be worth if you’re on a smaller site? If you’re on YouTube you may reach a larger audience, even with a smaller money split. I agree competition is a good thing, but it’s gonna be hard to really take on YouTube. The new rivals should make video creators sign exclusive agreements with them to post their videos only on their sites. That could really give YouTube some real competition. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
