College Freshmen are Moving Away from Religion and This Should Come as No Surprise Due to the Culture - A Whittle Bit of Commentary 2/9/15

A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

Transcript (may appear different than audio recording):

In the newest installment of the American Freshman survey that is out from the University of California in L.A., it’s reporting that new college freshmen are moving away from religion. In the survey 28% of students said they have no religious preference, which is down from 24.6% last year and 17.5% a decade ago.  This comes as no surprise to me considering the culture that these kids have grown up in. Every media outlet they’ve turned on, tuned in or sites and apps they’ve used have for the most part presented them with a negative view of religion. It’s been mocked, and laughed at. The media has the greatest influence on teens and college students, more than houses of worship or even universities. As I’ve said before, change the media, change the world.
