A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle

The internet is changing their entire media industry faster than most people assumed it would. I’m not surprised. I saw it coming years ago. The NY Post is reporting that traditional TV viewing among 18-34 years olds fell 10.6% between September and January. That’s double the rate than the previous year. When the topic of cable comes up with fellow Millennials, I hear the same answer almost every time: “I don’t have cable, I have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime,” There is a dramatic shift happening in media right now among consumers and I wonder if the GOP is keeping up with it. In 2008 and 2012 Mr. Obama won partly because of his social media and new media efforts to reach out to young Americans. The Republicans are slowly getting their act together in regards to social media. For 2016 maybe they should try something new and advertise on streaming media platforms if they really wanna connect to the Netflix generation of voters.
