A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Transcript (may appear different than audio recording):
Jon Stewart announced his retirement from The Daily Show this week, and after reading the Tweets and media reactions, I’m not sure if his college fans are sadder or the media is that he’s stepping down. From time to I’ll read a post about how there isn’t a liberal Rush Limbaugh (and I believe we’re all glad there isn’t one), but I’ve read posts about how there isn’t a popular liberal radio host out there (not counting NPR). Well, after hearing that Stewart’s stepping down, I got me wondering where is the conservative Jon Stewart? Conservatives dominate radio. You’ve got Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and Whittle. We’ve got Fox News, which is awesome, but there isn’t a young Conservative media figure on TV that reaches a college aged audience like Stewart has done on his show. We need that because to generations coming up, video is everything, and having a conservative personality that could use videos, parodies and humor to help spread the conservative message on TV or even online would be huge. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
