They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but if you’re trying to sign up for the dating website BeautifulPeople.com, then beauty is in the eye of this website. Unlike most dating websites where you can sign up and open an account, this website only allows the beautiful to sign up. According to CNBC, 9 out of 10 people are denied a membership on the site. Well, now the website wants to help the unwanted, I guess you’d say the “ugly,” by helping them make themselves look better so they’ll be pretty enough to join. The “Adopt an Ugly Person” website offers various services from stylists to therapists all in an attempt to help the website viewer become more attractive and therefore be able to sign up for BeautifulPeople.com. Of course, this is a money thing. Isn’t it always? My question is if you willing visit the ugly people website after being denied by beautifulpeople.com aren’t you admitting that you’re a part of the unattractive? Why not instead just sign up for another website? And also, with all the negative messages about beauty in the media, isn’t this the last thing we need? Don’t women already have enough pressure about their looks? I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
