There’s a new app that is sweeping high schools across the country and it’s spreading quickly. It’s called “After School” and no it’s not an app that helps your kids with their after school activities such as homework. The app went online in November and it’s already causing problems. The app allows users to post “anonymous and private messages on a board for your school.” That is straight from the app’s description in the app store. One of the screen shots of the app shows two college co-eds with the headline “party tonight,” so you can see where this is heading. The app is similar to Yik Yak, but might be even worse. This app contains sexually explicit videos, so you know that this is an app that the creators will say it not aimed at underage kids, but that’s exactly who is gonna use it and they know that and it’s gonna cause lots of problems. It’s funny. I remember when my parents were worried about MySpace. That site seems like pre-k compared to what is out there now. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
