D.C. is a mess, but at the state level things are looking pretty good. The New York Times is reporting that conservatism is not only making a comeback, but is thriving. The article reports that “Twenty-three state governments are now under the complete control – governor, house and state senate — of the Republican Party, more than at any time since Dwight D. Eisenhower won the presidency in 1952.” The state level GOP governments are gutting environmental laws, lowering taxes, implementing voter ID laws and more. Odds are this is a trend that will continue in November. Here in Georgia, Republican Nathan Deal is on his way to re-election. If we’re lucky, hopefully the state level conservatism will trickle up to the federal level. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
