Millennials Possibly Think Jesus Is Another Hollywood Character & I Blame the Church For It A Whittle Bit of Commentary 10/27/14

This year we’ve seen a lot of faith based movies released and some have been good and some have not been so good. That’s pretty much the case with all movies. I read that there is a new “Exodus: Gods and Kings” movie coming out and some bloggers and others in the Christian media are starting to question if the movie will be true to the Biblical account of the events being portrayed in the movie. This story made me wonder how many young Americans view the stories of the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ as just another Hollywood character. No different than Harry Potter, or Batman. Just another human with magical powers and super human abilities. How many in our post-Christian, post-modern culture have any clue about the Bible and Jesus Christ? I wonder how many of them view it as another Hunger Games or Twilight book series? While it’s sad that some young Millennials have no strong understanding of the Bible, I feel that it’s even sadder that the Christianity community has allowed the culture to make it to this point. That’s that real tragedy. I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
