A Whittle Bit of Commentary with Chad Whittle
Below is a rush transcript (may contain errors):
Trump announced his winners for the 2017 Fake News Awards on Thursday, and no surprise that the New York Times and CNN were big winners, along with other big names in fake news.
CNN and the rest of the fake news crew spend a majority of their broadcast day doing any and everything they can to undermine and lie about the President, without ever offering a balance approach to their coverage highlighting the good that he is doing, especially with the economy.
That being said, I want to let you in on a Whittle secret. This is just between you and me.
Are you ready?
While on TV the fake news does their anti-Trump act, but secretly, when the camera is off, they absolutely love him big league.
There has never been a more interesting, exciting time to be in political media. The Trump administration is the most interesting administration to cover ever. Every day Trump keeps it interesting. Could you imagine how boring it would’ve been to have to report on President Jeb! Bush every day? I would’ve felt sorry for CNN if they had to, because it would’ve been so low energy boring. No excitement whatsoever.
Because of Trump, the New York Times has a reason to still exist, and thanks to him, they’re getting a bigger subscriber base, that they never would’ve gotten with another candidate. Trump is giving the liberals a reason to read it. Trump is the bailout newspapers always needed to stay open. And ditto CNN, MSNBC, and Stephen Colbert. If it wasn’t for Trump, Colbert would probably be in third place right now behind Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.
With year one of the fake news awards behind us, it’s now time to be on the lookout for this year’s nominees, a list that I am sure will grow.
I’m Chad Whittle on A Whittle Bit of Commentary.
Note: Chad misspoke when referring to the fake news awards announcement occurring on Thursday. The award winners were announced on Wednesday.
