Democrats Are Starting To Realize They Need To Appear On Fox News Instead Of CNN If They Want To Reach Voters. The Bernie Sanders Town Hall On Fox Is The Most Viewed Of Year

We already knew Fox News was the king of cable news. The channel’s ratings and success prove it. Now, we have indisputable proof thanks to, of all people, Bernie Sanders.

Monday night the Senator and current Democrat frontrunner for president appeared on Fox for an hour that was the most watched town hall of the year with 2.6 million viewers. So far, the average viewership for CNN’s town halls is 903,000. Rivals Fox News and MSNBC’s regular programming airing during the CNN town halls each easily beat the network with Fox receiving an average of 2.2 million viewers and MSNBC 1.1 million.

I give Sanders credit for being willing to appear on Fox because not all Democrats would’ve done that.

The Vermont senator was wise to go on Fox because he knew if he wanted to reach a mass audience with his message, Fox was the place to go. No one outside of his base would’ve ever seen him on MSNBC, and if you look at the ratings for CNN, not many that “Burn for Bernie” or any other candidate’s supporters for that matter would’ve seen them on CNN.

Fox is in talks about hosting a town hall with Pete Buttigieg next. If he’s smart, he’ll accept the invitation so he can actually reach voters.

Even Democrats are starting to learn that if you want to reach an audience, you gotta go on Fox. Otherwise, you’ll just be talking to people that are walking through an airport glancing at CNN on a TV screen.

The Mainstream Media Should Be Beacons Of Truth In The Age Of Fake News, But New Poll Shows Many Americans Know They're Not.

According to a new poll of 2,200 Americans conducted by The Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult, many Americans know what we all know to be true about the mainstream media: the majority of it is liberal.

The study reports 46 percent believe CNN leans liberal and 43 percent believe MSNBC is as well.

Just 12 percent believe CNN is neutral which is still too high of a number.

Broadcast TV networks are believed to have a liberal bias as well with 36 percent believing NBC is liberal, 35 percent for CBS, and 34 percent believe ABC’s coverage is slanted left.

Of the sample, 51 percent believe Fox News is conservative.

The poll also found that 40 percent of Americans believe there should be less coverage of politics with another 40 percent believing TV news should cover world events more. It’s hard to disagree with them on this point.

I’m glad to see there are so many others that are figuring out the agenda of the mainstream media. The more Americans figure out the news coverage they are receiving from mainstream traditional news sources is slanted, the better informed they’ll become because they will seek out more accurate, alternative sources.

In the age of the fake news and misrepresentation spreading all across social media, traditional journalism institutions should be beacons of truth and accuracy. A place Americans can turn to find the truth and not a biased agenda. Sadly, this isn’t the case and probably never will be. They’ll continue to go left, and because of this, their ratings will continue to go south.

The Box Office Success Of The Pro-Life Film 'Unplanned' Surprises No One But Hollywood

The Christian produced pro-life movie “Unplanned” is proving to be a surprise box office hit according to reports from Yahoo. This is only a surprise to those that live and work in Hollywood because if you live outside the Hollywood bubble, this probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you. Unlike many in the film industry, your average American does not hold a far left position on abortion.

The movie has made more than $8.6 million at the box office since its March 29 release which is good enough for fourth place at the box office this past weekend according to Box Office Mojo. The only movies ahead of it are big budgeted blockbusters like “Dumbo,” “Us,” and “Captain Marvel.”

For the film to be fourth to big Disney/Marvel movies is very impressive considering the movie had a much smaller production budget and less promotion due to no TV networks agreeing to air ads for the film except Fox News Channel due to its pro-life message.

It probably also helped that the vice president of the United States Tweeted his support of the film. Currently, the movie is in over 1,500 theaters.

The odds were not in the movie’s favor since the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) attributed an “R” rating to the film so that teens 17 and under could not watch the movie. In some states, you can receive an abortion without your parents’ permission if you’re 15, but you can’t watch a film about abortion unless you have your legal guardians permission. The Twitter account of the film was also briefly suspended which hurt marketing efforts as well.

The movie has received harsh negative reviews from Hollywood which isn’t surprising and was very predictable.

I’m glad this film was made. It’s exactly the type of film Christians and conservatives need to produce. If conservatives want to win the culture war, the battlefield isn’t the halls of Congress. This political and moral battle must be won on the movie, TV and smartphone screens across the country.

Things Go From Bad To Worse For CNN: Tucker Carlson Beats Their ENTIRE Primetime Lineup Combined!

Things for CNN have gone from bad to worse.

First, Robert Mueller did not find collusion with Russia.

Now, as if that isn’t bad enough, Tucker Carlson at 8 p.m. on Fox News beat the ENTIRE CNN primetime lineup in the ratings!

Last week, CNN’s primetime lineup received an average of 2.4 million viewers while Carlson averaged 3.4 million viewers. According to Nielsen, Chris Cuomo received 875,000 viewers, Anderson Cooper received 810,000 viewers and Don Lemon 789,000 viewers. In total, Carlson beat all of them combined by around a million viewers.

This has to be incredibly embarrassing for CNN. However, if you look at recent ratings for CNN primetime, most of their shows are just above a million total viewers in primetime or less.

The Washington Times reported Fox News primetime ratings were up 11% in the last year while CNN fell by 11%.

CNN went all in on the Russia collusion narrative so after two-plus years of reporting that it was all but a certain, once it was proven to be false, it was easily predictable due to their reporting that they’d lose viewers.

The problem for CNN is can they replace or bring back the viewers they’ve lost?

In a world of thousands of other sources online including social media for news, the answer is no.

CNN’s dominant days are over. In fact, it really started when they replaced Larry King. That was the first of many bad programming decisions. King had millions of viewers compared to Piers Morgan.

The network could recover if they want back to news and not anti-Trump 24/7 but there is more evidence of Russia collusion than there is they’ll ever consider doing that and as you know, there was no Russian collusion.

Whittle at 'Media Equalizer': Boycotts Hurt All Sides

Our Founding Fathers felt freedom of speech and the press was so vital and important to the continued success of our nation that they granted this right in the First Amendment of the Constitution. They knew all freedoms that followed would rise and fall on the freedom to freely speak and debate political, moral and religious topics.

In 2019, there are more ways than ever to share your viewpoint on any topic imaginable. All you need is a computer, keyboard, a social media account or website, video camera and a microphone. The Internet is the Founding Father’s freedom of speech dreams fully realized.

You no longer have to be on the payroll of a large media company to share your opinion. You can go live on YouTube and reach millions.

While there are almost countless digital media options for Americans to use to share their opinion, there are many politically motivated groups that are trying to stop popular media figures from having the right to speak their mind on the issues of the day.

Hallelujah! Netflix Plans To Produce Faith Based And Family Programming

Netflix has found religion. For many religious readers that may come as a shock considering the world’s largest streaming video on-demand service brought the world Frank Underwood and "Orange is the New Black."

Fox News reported that Netflix is planning to launch a slate of original faith and family-friendly programming that will be exclusive on the video service.

Netflix is spending $8 billion per year on programming according to reports so the company has the money to produce some high quality faith and family programming. No Christian filmmaker can come close to matching the resources of Netflix.

I think Netflix producing original faith-based programming is a smart business move. There are millions of not only Americans but families around the world that would like to subscribe to the streaming service but won’t due to a lack of family-friendly program offerings. This is a business decision that Christians should support.

With the almost countless options viewers have for TV entertainment, producing quality shows is more important than ever. Having Christian shows on Netflix will take Christian entertainment to a new level and will possibly reach many viewers that otherwise would never watch Christian movies and shows because most non-Christians are not going to subscribe to a Christian video service. However, they will watch Netflix.

If Christians want to reach millennials and other nonbelievers with the gospel, there is no better way than through the media and no bigger service than Netflix to use to do it.

CNN Should Rebrand HLN (Headline News) As A Conservative Competitor To Fox News

CNN recently announced they plan to no longer produce live news programming on sister network HLN, except for Robin Meade’s morning show and a few hours after her show goes off. The rest of the day will consist of taped programming.

The reason for the change from live news to taped programming?

Trump.

The “Cable news landscape is dominated by politics,” said HLN head Ken Jautz. He further explained to his staff that due to HLN’s focus on non-political stories, the network really could not compete in this current news and political environment.

While he did not say Trump specifically, at this point, isn’t the word politics just interchangeable with Trump’s name?

CNN is missing a real business opportunity by not embracing politics on HLN, specifically conservative Republican Trump politics.

If you like Trump or vote Republican, you watch Fox News. If you hate Trump, you can watch either MSNBC or CNN and get your daily fill of anti-Trump programming. One reason Fox News dominates both Trump hating networks in the ratings is that MSNBC and CNN split the liberal viewership.

I believe CNN’s parent company Turner Broadcasting is missing a big league ratings opportunity by not providing content for the MAGA viewer.

There is no way CNN would ever hire a pro-Trump host for a primetime slot. Their viewers would revolt.

However, HLN is a separate channel, and the past few years it’s really struggled to find its own identity. CNN should rebrand it as a Fox News competitor.

If HLN became Fox News-lite with a primetime line up of respected conservative commentators and reporters, it would give Fox News competition and would peel away viewers from the nation’s leading cable news channel. However, this would not happen overnight. It would be a long-term project because it would take years to establish trust among conservative viewers, but hiring someone like Ben Shapiro, for example, would go a long way in establishing trust.

Not only would this move provide CNN with millions more in revenue, it would also open the door for more voices and would make cable news overall stronger as viewers would have more options for conservative commentary.

Competition makes everyone better, stronger and pushes them to create better products. More competition in cable news would be a good thing for the viewer at home.
